I do not understand, but it seems as if every college football team I am rooting for his bowl season ends up losing, every team but Iowa that is. Hopefully things take a U-turn before Monday, because I am not going to cheer for Texas just to make sure the lose to the Ohio State Buckeyes. I may try some crazy and hair brained ideas on occasion, but I will not root against my Buckeyes. At all costs I will stay true to my favorite team, which is also my Alma mater. Attending the Ohio State University has always been a dream of mine, and it takes more that what is possible to stop me from attempting to reach my dream. I had quite of a major automobile accident, nearly losing my life and was left with the daunting task of returning to normalcy, but even that did not stop me from enrolling at The Ohio State University on schedule in the fall immediately after my high school experience was over. Obstacles may stand in my way and try to impede my progress, but with hard work I leaped them all so far. I know anything is achievable with hard work, especially getting over hurdles, because I never used to be able to jump that well. I guess some things never change, and actually my jumping ability got worse after the accident. That is why my ability to get over those obstacles is so astonishing. With hard work ALL things are possible. LETS GO BUCKEYES!!! PROVE THOSE CRITICS WRONG! I BLEED SCARLET AND GREY!!!

I got my solid five hours of sleep last night, which is becoming rather routine for me. Last night was different though. Different is when I have very vivid dreams. I think it all stems from my accident, as that was a changing milestone in my life, and the detailed dreams have only occurred twice before last night. The first dream I had: I was laying in my bed and my cousins and friends, Mark and Christine who did in fact visit me often after my accident, were standing at the foot of my bed talking to each other and pointing at me. I first try waving at them with my left then right hand, then try making a verbal hello to them, but all attempts at communication failed. I honestly tried moving my hands and I cannot. That was a freaky feeling. Secondly, years later comes dream number two: I was driving a car, I had no recognition of where I was besides behind the steering wheel, and I just see this pole coming at m. I try everything to try to escape collision, but as I was running out of options I just duck my head and cringe to lessen the impact effects. I woke up before ever making contact with the pole. After both of these first two dreams (similarly to last night's dream) I awoke in a frantic ad worried state of mind, sweating profusely, and I was all worked up. It takes a few seconds to realize it was merely a dream. My dream last night: I am just lying there and I feel this excruciating pain in my left thigh bone (femur), and as I was waking and jumping out of bed I could still feel the extreme soreness in my upper leg. As I was rapidly going to open my bedroom door and call for help I realized it was just a dream, and I needed to use the restroom anyways. All three of these dreams are believed to be a direct result from my accident, but since all three of them occurred just one time in the last ten years, they are not really that much of a problem. But maybe I have more of them that I am unaware of, because maybe that contributes to my inability to get a sound and restful evening of sleep.

This morning I travelled by foot a little over two miles. I walked the first mile, and the second mile I walked/ran. Now since my wreck I do not have a very smooth running gait. Really it looks rather shaky as I rumble down the road. I don't want to work my heart too hard, as I spent a few days in the hospital a few weeks ago for escalating blood pressure. I'm no supposed to work out real hard.
11 years ago I would have ran the full way... plus I surely would have went at least five miles. Life is certainly different post accident, but it's my life. The change in daily life practices doesn't end with different running gait, basketball shooting methods, or sports in general, but nearly everything has changed. I love my life though. People often ask me how I deal without being able to do what was simple stuff before my accident. I do not focus on anything I can't do, because there is so much I CAN do now that I couldn't before. Every time I give a speech I touch lives. I wouldn't be an inspirational or motivational speaker if I was never in the wreck. God's way is the BEST!!!
