Good day and I am sorry that I have not been updating this as often as I should be. Too concerned with staying healthy and getting back into the routine of things am I? No, but it is time consuming.I am now riding the exercise bike fast and furiously a few time per week. In 30 minutes I am getting 8.7 miles covered, and typically I continue that for a second 30 minutes as a cooling down mechanism (That's one hour riding that results in about 17 miles.) Yesterday, though, I rode the Schwinn Airdyne exercise bicycle for 100 minutes (that's 1 hour and 40 minutes,) but I cooled down emmensely those last 20 minutes. Overall I covered 25.5 miles, and burnt 660 calories. That left me tired... but no pain no gain, right! I am instructed by doctors and medical professionals to not lift > 30 lbs., but my day will come when I can sign up at the YMCA again. I hear patience is a virtue? It is not often prevalent in me :-). Oh well... I've been active on Facebook, and trying to get my message out there. I have developed a group called, The Rest is Up to You, and I encourage you to join that group. I send out a motivational email, that includes at least one famous person's quote, about once a week o all members that joined prior to sent time of the email. There is upwards of about 600 people who receive email currently. I am always open to the idea of getting a service elsewhere, but funds are an issue and facebook is free. If you join or not please invite all of your friends to join also. I want to positively affect as many lives as possible. And please visit my website: www.mattschroeder.org and/or email me: matt@mattschroeder.org . Thank you.

It has been awhile, but I have not had vast time to do this. Be assured though everything transplant related is going great and my cousin who donated the kidney is doing fabulous as well. He is back to work and everything. My immune system was knocked out for the surgery, and the bad part about that is I have to wear a surgical mask whenever I go in public to prevent infection. I hve to be a masked man only until February 18. So far there is no sign of rejection, and I hope to keep it that way for the next 50 years at least. I figure by hen they will have artificial kidneys that people can get. We have the best medicl technology and advances in this country.

My sister and her family are coming here this afternoon. I guess Rob will not be here until Saturday, because he has to work. Lisa and her three boys will be here later today though. I will have an opportunity to help mold the three little kids who range in age from five and a half to the youngest who turns two on April 29.

An older (significantly old:-) friend called just to see how I was doing after surgery. I don'ut know if she works for her husband or what she is doing. I went to the clinic at UC today for my kidney. Everything went super, and my next appointment is not until four weeks from yesterday!

Happy New Year everbody. 2009 is over, and it is time to start the last year of another decade. Yesterday, January first, was a Friday, and iit seems rather odd. The start of the new year would seem much better being on a Monday, because the work week starts then, too. It does seem like the weekend came a little bit early, and today is only Saturday. On Tuesday I went to my first basketball game: St. Henry vs. Kalida, but today marks my first Coluimbus Grove Bulldogs game.
