The Northwest Ohio basketball teams that I watched yesterday in the big AAU tournament were on the losing end of all contests I witnessed. That was a slight disappointment, but overall my experience was overwhelmingly successful. Luke's Junior to be team won their game on Friday night convincingly, and the first two games yesterday were losses by slim margins. If one of those losses would have been by one more bucket, as it turns out, would have been more beneficial to the team I think. See teams throughout the nation were divided into four team sections one could call it. the top two teams advanced to the Gold round while the bottom two advanced to the silver bracket. in Luke's section one of the teams went undefeated and the remaining three teams went 1-3. It game down to the margin of victories and losses. His (Luke's) team was thrown into the gold bracket, as they finished with a two (2) seed. The opposing team slaughtered them. The opponents were much bigger and stronger. This was Northwest Ohio's first tournament and it was too early in the summer for them to gel as a team, but nonetheless it was a good thing to get their feet wet against the big boys. The higher seeded team was dunking on us small town Ohioans routinely. It is not that often that I get to see dunking of that caliber live, and actually I do not get a chance to see live slamming and jamming at all.
I am marching for the Knights of Columbus, as a 4th degree member, for first communion today. It is an honor and privilege to get all dressed up in my attire for that.
