1/3/2009

Yesterday was awesome as far as the bowl scenario goes. Utah upset the highly favored Alabama squad. The Tide was ranked number one in the country for a number of consecutive weeks until Florida beat them at the end of the regular season. The Utah Utes had an undefeated season but are a smaller scale school. The Utes pretty much dominated Alabama, and that had me feeling good. I tend to cheer for the lesser known underdog when deciding who to root for. Such is usually not the case when Ohio State plays, because I am a Buckeye true and through. The Bucks are typically supposed to win, because the have probably the most recognized team in the country. That is usually the case, but the key word is usually! Ohio State had a couple of losses this season, and the media likes to give them no credit. Their losses in recent national championship games attribute to the media listing them as "overrated." I am tired of it! Texas is picked by many to kick some Buckeye rear ends, but hopefully on Monday night Ohio State will roll and prove the critics wrong. A victory will be sweet, and Columbus can reinstate its name into the list of powerhouse college football team locations. The scenario is unique as Ohio State is seldom the underdog, I would cheer for the Buckeyes despite whether they were favored or not, but it only adds to the excitement now that they are underdogs. I seam to recall the last time they were big underdogs in a bowl appearance they won the national championship.
