1/9/2009

The girls basketball team rolled to another victory as Columbus Grove upended Spencerville last night. Tonight the Grove boys take center stage as they too battle Spencerville. The biggest change in the contests between the boys and girls is the venue, and the Grove boys play an away game whereas the girls were at home last night. I think I made a possible speaking contact last night in the lady Bearcats basketball head coach.
Chris "Beanie" Wells has decided to forgo his senior season at Ohio State and enter the National Football League draft in 2009. As a Buckeye faithful fan I feel a slight bit disappointed, but I am happy for Chris. That is definitely the right choice for Beanie, as a running back has a limited number of years they can endure the rigors of the NFL. He'll be in the top two of running backs selected, maybe the first back taken, and at worst he will be a first round pick. That means a lot of money, and while green should not be the main concern in your life it would seem tough an illogical to turn down the lucrative deal that pro football players receive. In Columbus it would appear to be a rebuilding year for Buckeye football, but they reload yearly!!!
